Murray Custom Painting

David Murray of Murray Custom Painting (Appleton, WI) completed the cleaning, staining, resealing and repair of the nearly 100-year-old cedar shake siding on our house this Fall (2025). He also stained and sealed new replacement cedar shake to be installed. David worked closely with my spouse and I regarding stain color selection, providing many stain samples as needed and thoughtful recommendations. As a retired Architect, Murray Custom Painting is one of the best contractors I have worked with. David was honest and reliable, a very good communicator, paid attention to detail, and was a joy to work with. He showed up when promised, provided excellent and timely work-in-progress updates, did what he said he would do, and went above and beyond in all his efforts. David takes great pride in his work and it shows. We had a couple of change orders that were fair and acceptable – and discussed a head of time to avoid any surprises. Additionally, under a separate contract, he replaced selected pieces of worn and badly weathered cedar shake on our house and garage where needed and did an excellent job. All his work was excellent and very well done with great care and attention throughout the project. Our almost 100-year-old house looks new again. Dave is top notch. He is MORE THAN fairly priced. He is on time, authentic, professional, dependable, and has a meticulous attention to detail. His quality of work is unmatched. He takes great pride in his work and in his name. I even changed the plan on him a few times and he was flexible and adaptable. He is absolutely a man of his word and I would not use anyone else.

I am beyond happy with the work that David did on our kitchen cabinets. The kitchen looks brand new and modern. I am now working on updating all the other oak in the house to white.
