McLaughlin Design & Construction LLC

McLaughlin Design & Construction LLC, led by Breff McLaughlin, is a business that specializes in designing and building upscale homes, as well as offering design services for Portland/Vancouver and beyond. They are known for their unique and innovative approaches, as seen in the construction of a house that stands out even in an upscale community, and the successful handling of a unique situation involving a different type of house design.

Their practice spans from drafting and 3D architectural design to general contracting and construction. They take a collaborative approach, focusing on the client's desires and how they will ultimately use their new space. They value both the beauty of form and the harmony of function, with a keen eye for even the smallest details.

One satisfied client hired McLaughlin to take over a dissatisfying project from another architect, and they quickly developed a vision that exceeded the client's expectations. McLaughlin's deep experience and knowledge of construction were instrumental in finding cost-effective approaches to modernize a dated 1980s home into a cutting-edge architectural design.

Their process of taking ideas into a 3D space leaves almost nothing to chance and keeps changes more affordable during this phase, as opposed to making changes during actual construction. Communication with the client is described as fun and easy, with the end result leaving clients extremely happy and unable to imagine a better outcome on their own.
