I've just avoided cutting it altogether because, when faced with a longer-haired guy, they seem to be butchers that want to buzz you down, get confused and try to give you a girly bob or something, or simply can't deal with curly hair and make a mess). After not cutting it for at least 7-8 months and starting to look like Weird Al Yankovic waking up in an alley after a weekend bender, Shannon Ellis at Avanti did a wonderful job. She is also super sweet and chill, which eased my strong anxiety and discomfort with the whole thing. Highly recommend.“
