I have used tropical tan for a few years now, but this location and Capitol Hill are ran by the same manager and are consequently not the best. The “manager” never responds or get backs to you regarding billing problems, and the staff will tell you that “yeah, taxes are supposed to be a 20% fee for monthly memberships”, so when I upgraded my membership to the next level($69 to $79) it went up $30 because no one knows what they’re doing. Unless you decide to NEVER upgrade your account, go elsewhere. I’ve been overcharged for 7 months now, but don’t want to travel to Tacoma to see a knowledgeable manager that can fix my account.

Walked in intending to use a super bed, but upgraded to the stand up Ultra experience for the first time. Such an amazing experience compared to the coffin style tanning beds... the stand up experience gets u tan in places that u can't reach while laying down. I think this will help provide a more even tan compared to the traditional beds where u lay down. It was so relaxing and warm, I started doing Tai chi stretches while I felt the warm air, it was like I entered the next dimension of tanning experiences! Thank you so much to staff for recommending I try something new today. If u haven't tried it yet, I definitely suggest you do! 5 STARS!

I’ve had really good experiences at this location. Keef is the best very helpful and kind. Beds are always clean and it has been no problem to just arrive and tan right away.

This is the 5th time I’ve drove around for over an hour to multiple locations and still not received any service. No one working during open hours, system down, spray tan down. Such a waste of time and money for a membership. Please figure out your business model

I would give Tropical Tan of Ballard a 5 star review except for the fact that every single weekend that I try to go on Sunday, no one is ever there. Half the time the "Open" sign is on and the sign in the window says someone will be right back but I've waited 45min multiple times omly to leave in frustration. Today..... Sunday, July 21, 2024 at 4:50pm the open sign is turned off, the door is locked and no one is home. Maybe its just not open on Sundays and the website and hrs of operation are in need of being updated? Anyways, 6 days a week it's a great place to tan.

DO NOT GO HERE. Tonight was the second time this week that it's been closed significantly before it's closing time. I went a little after 6 p.m. and saw the person who works there walking away as I walked up. I figured someone new must've just started a shift but nobody was there. It's supposed to close at 9 p.m.

Terrible management with broken machines. But the girls at the front desk are awesome! I just wish their spray machine worked properly. If you don't mind the drive, I'd recommend going to a better location like Shoreline or Wallingford.

I personally love this company, but this location is terrible. I have shown up on numerous occasions to the salon being closed hours before it supposed to with no signage and no reasoning to be closed. I have shown up and booked my beds and then gone out to go to my next bed and they have given that bed to somebody else, I've had to sit naked waiting for bed that was given to somebody else that had already booked. One employee in particular is rude late half the time falling asleep at the desk. I understand that you have a disability and I appreciate that you attempt to do your job, but if you cannot, focus on your job at hand and not book beds under other peoples names. That's a problem. I shouldn't have to sit waiting because you chose to book somebody else in bed. You'd already marked my name into. I don't think I will be returning to this location, unfortunately
