We had the pleasure of working with Tony from Golden Hardwood Floors Company on a new addition to our home, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. The biggest challenge was sourcing pecan flooring to match our existing floors. Tony came up with the perfect solution—he carefully removed the pecan flooring from a carpeted room and seamlessly installed it into the new addition. The result is absolutely stunning—flawless in look and craftsmanship. We’ve also worked with Tony on another project, restoring a property where another company had made mistakes on a hardwood floor. Tony and his crew refinished our tired and scratched white oak floors. The last time they were finished was 30 years ago. At that Swedish finish was about the only option. It was darker (more red) and very toxic, requiring us to move completely out for a week after while they cured. Tony educated us about the options (including doing Swedish again) but we opted for the Bona “Classic” water based satin finish. We are very pleased with the results, and were able to live downstairs without fumes. The classic finish brought out more of the natural wood tones without looking red, yellow, or bleached out.
