I have been visiting Joan/EE for DECADES... I started when Joan was still in the U District in Seattle, so it's been a WHILE. She has always been kind, efficient and honest with me. Due to auto immune issues along with aging, I've developed thicker and more volume of hair on my face. Joan was honest and told me that longer sessions for that much facial hair just would not be feasible- this has to do with my ability to withstand pain and also fatigue for her and not a lack of inclusion. I opted to have laser removal done on the larger area of my face along with the dark hair on my lower arms and it has been very effective long term. Expert Electrolysis does not serve transgender people. In fact, they won't even consult for facial electrolysis, stating that 'it's too much time,' ignorant of the actual light touch-up I require. Please educate your team and strive to be LGBTQIA+ friendly.

Although the site is geared for 'every woman' seeking relief from 'emotional' pain of undesired hair, Expert Electrolysis does not recommend women who are transgender even seek a consultation, citing that half hour bookings aren't sufficient for facial electrolysis. Their conclusion was made pre-consultation, clearly driven by biased assumptions on what concerns a potential client might have. As I did receive an e-mail response from the team, I continue to believe (with effort) that Expert Electrolysis means well, therefore I give them two stars in pursuit of that hope.
