I have limited experience with Doug, but the bit I had was excellent. From what I gather, Doug is one of the top piano technicians in the area and does the usual range of work you would expect of a technician (tuning, voicing, regulation, etc.) and more (Stanwood method, etc.). I hit him up for an evaluation of a piano I'm considering purchasing, and though he effectively declined because there's no margin in it for him, he already knew the specific piano well enough to give me what I needed without charge. So to repay him, I'd like to spread the word here. I did some basic research on other technicians in the area and didn't see too many others who regularly work on higher end instruments, so Doug is likely your guy if you need work on your Steinway.
