We hired Carigen to file our federal tax returns. Thankfully they did fulfill this core service. Initial service was great and inspiring. We received clear directions on submitting the paperwork, their web portal was easy to use, and we were charged a competitive rate for their service. However, Carigen never sent us copies of our filed tax returns. We've searched our files, records, emails and cannot locate the returns. Two months ago we called and emailed them asking for copies, but unfortunately we haven't heard back from Carigen's nor have we received copies of our tax returns. Sadly, I have to agree with the other reviewer above.I was recommended to this team as my previous accountant had retired. I specifically wanted to support a small non-corporate team. I came to the initial appointment with super-organized files and was reassured at this meeting that everything was in order and that there would be no need for an extension. I got a notification that the taxes were finally filed in November.I was charged 3 times as much as my old accountant for a service that was barely fit for purpose, given the mistakes that were made. Amy is a perfectly fine and kind human. And do not use them for your tax or accounting needs. Our taxes for 2021 still haven't been filed! We had all our stuff in long before the deadline and then I received an email from the IRS saying our extension had been granted. We had no idea that one was being filed for us in the first place. The response time is horrible to almost non-existent. This place cost us a couple grand in late fees as well. I understand being overwhelmed, and, ignoring and avoiding your clients and not being clear with communication is a terrible way to provide services.
