We really got lucky having David Conklin as our wedding photographer. In addition to being an absolute pleasure to work with, he is a talented and experienced photographer and captured some beautiful moments perfectly. He's also professional, responsive, and his rates are incredibly reasonable. So happy he was there to photograph our wedding day!

The process of selecting a wedding photographer was actually one of the few elements of the planning that I was dreading, and I suspect this is pretty common. It's a bit scary knowing that your choice is going to be the ETERNAL record of the day that results from what's probably the most important choice of your life. That's some serious pressure. If you're around the Seattle area, do yourself a massive favor and talk to David and Linda at Conklin Photography. Linda is just an absolute joy to be around, effusive and thoughtful, and David has the quiet intensity that's (with tongue firmly in cheek) usually reserved for mad scientists...or people that are seriously devoted to, and great at, what they do. He may in fact BE a mad scientist...I don't know. What's important is that he fits the latter description, and the combination of the two partners is a very, very good mix. From the initial meetings to the process of deciding on all of the planned photos to the actual day of the wedding, the professionalism and competence of this duo was tangible. Alone amongst all of the various external elements of our wedding, our choice to work with them was the one choice that was consistently reinforced as being the best one we could have made. As I've said, their professionalism was exceptional. They didn't hard sell at all, listened - truly listened- to our needs, and provided advice, suggestions, and feedback in a no-B.S. way that I really appreciated. They were never late to a meeting or in responding to emails, and delivered the preview of the shots they took precisely when they said they would. I'm actually not going to go into great detail about the final shots: suffice it to say that they were exceptional. Based on the portfolio on their website, I'd actually expected extremely high quality and was not disappointed. What you see there aren't the random lucky shots: they're what you're going to get. Simply great. A number of other things stand out, but one is their mastery of the candid shot. It's my experience that many photographers sell the idea that they'll be unobtrusive, but the philosophy and background David explains on his website really put some meaning behind that and was the reason we first made contact. It turned out to be completely true - he and Linda really deliver on this claim. They were able to capture candid shots that we wouldn't have believed possible. Family members who have never been captured smiling or dancing in any photographs before, along with other small miracles. Also, they were anything but passive (which may seem like a contradiction...being able to get in the action while remaining unintrusive, but they pulled it off) and captured the liveliest moments at our reception without any sort of staging or interruption. I could honestly continue on for a longer review, but I'll leave some of it for pleasant surprises. Also, you should probably stop reading this and call them now.
