“I reached out to Apex Driving School to ask about teen driver’s ed and had the pleasure of speaking with Dave. From the very beginning, it was clear that he brings a wealth of experience and deep knowledge to what he does.

He was incredibly kind, patient, and took the time to explain things in a way that was both thorough and easy to understand.

As a very safety-conscious (and admittedly momma-bear-level concerned) parent, I was especially impressed by how he didn’t just speak in general terms, he demonstrated a strong knowledge of safety laws, current regulations, and real-world driving protocols. It was clear that his goal is not just to help teens pass a test, but to truly prepare them to be responsible, aware, and confident drivers.

He also emphasized the importance of in person instruction and teaching the students legalities and RCWs, which gave me a lot of reassurance.

You can tell he’s passionate about what he does and genuinely cares about the safety and success of the students he teaches.

It’s completely understandable why his classes are so booked out; his expertise and dedication really set him apart. I genuinely wanted to enroll my teen right away, but the available sessions were a bit too far out for our current timeline.

That said, I absolutely plan to book with Dave in the future for defensive driving or any other classes he offers.

After speaking with him, I would feel comfortable entrusting my most precious treasure into his care as an instructor.

“David Chen is the GOAT. I did the 30 mins warmup+ drivers test. He was super friendly and calming which was very useful as I had a crappy experience with IDA Driving school (do not recommend).

He was very thorough with all the things to keep an eye out for and how to do the exam as I already knew how to drive but IDA failed me.

“I had a great experience learning to drive with Marc. He was incredibly patient and supportive, especially when I felt nervous or anxious behind the wheel. His calm yet firm teaching style really helped me build confidence over time.

Marc explained everything clearly and made sure I understood proper techniques, from basic skills to more specific ones like left turns and hand-over-hand steering. One thing that stood out was how he encouraged me to actively think while driving by giving commentary, which helped me stay focused and more aware.

What makes him different from other instructors I’ve had is how much effort he puts into understanding each student. He pays close attention to where you struggle and tailors his teaching to help you improve in those areas.
