I was distressed when my avian veterinarian retired, just as my bird was due for her semi annual trim. Finding a decent avian veterinarian isn't always easy, and unless you live in a bigger metro area, it's even harder. I was so excited when I found Dr. Sonya through the Avian Vet Association, and even happier when I found her so close to home. I've been driving from Shelton to Des Moines for years. Besides an initial hiccup with a delayed first appointment, everything went better than I expected! I love this Vet. I have been going here for over 17 years. It's always hard to lose a pet, they are so amazing and compassionate when the time comes. DR Sonnya is a great vet, her vet tech Courtney has been there for 17 years too.
Been bringing my pups here for wellness care but was pleasantly surprised how accommodating they were to get my pup Mitzi in for an emergency when I called same day. The front desk Kristina and Mandy are so helpful and kind. I could tell Dr Wilkins cared for my fur babies well being as much as I do and that’s all I can want from a vets office . Thanks again GHVS
