The Royal Fabric Care Center is a reliable laundromat in Des Moines, known for its clean facilities and reasonably priced big machines. However, customers have recently experienced issues with several out-of-order dryers, which can lead to long wait times. The business faces challenges in maintaining equipment and staffing, but overall provides good customer service.
Went here during business hours (8:30 am) and they were closed. No explanation. Never going here again without calling them to confirm they are open.
Edit: Tried going here again; they closed a hour early and couldn’t get my clothes and sheets back that night. Utterly destroyed my plans the following day. Calling them doesn’t even work because they evidently spontaneously close their doors at any time.

Ok, leaving old review and changing. This place is not that bad. I finally met and talked to the two ladies who are running the place today. The store was closed for a holiday that I was unaware of, and then got closed because of an unexpected death of family/friend. The place is undergoing some renovations to make everything nicer for everybody who is using it.
Yeah… definitely do not go here. As if that is even an option because I think they are closed. They took my clothes said they would call me when they were done and then they have been closed for four days now.

Half the time, the machines don't work, the customer service here are bad, and they barely help the customers with their problems.Like one time, there was a woman who needed help with the machine to work and didn't speak english that well, so they barely helped her with her problem. Also, I would mention that the bathroom is specifically for employees and not customers. So you gotta hold it in until you're done with your clean clothes. But I just saw someone (not an employee) use the bathroom. What would happen if the person had to use the bathroom really badly they have to run all the way to the Safeway.
