When I came in, I was struggling to stand on one leg without pain. While surgery was ultimately required, the PT I received prior to surgery shortened my post-surgery recovery time. Knowing I was in good hands, and returning to a team who were already familiar with my unique needs, made my rehab following surgery a study in progress, strength, and confidence. In January of 2023 I injured my back resulting in several bulging disks. The bulging disks caused some severe sciatic pain when I was sitting, lying down, bending, or crouching down. I could no longer do activities that were meaningful to me such as gardening, exercise classes, and yoga. Even sleeping was painful. I was miserable and becoming depressed. I had tried many different things to get rid of the pain with no success. After seven months of struggling with the pain, my doctor referred me to Brian Topham at Colville Physical Therapy.
