I was a patient at Burlington Family Practice before the Peace Health switch. Originally I had a great doctor who was very knowledgeable. She retired soon after I began seeing her. I was switched over to Eric Stark. Eric is a nice guy with a good bedside manner and although he didn't have the scope of knowledge that my original doctor at this practice had, he means well and does his best to find solutions. He even gave me his personal cell number for around the clock support and help when I was going through a serious health issue which I wouldn't have discovered without him urging me to get further testing. Unfortunately, he takes long vacations and I often had to see other doctors or PAs because Eric wasn't available. A couple of which were pretty awful. Both were rude and condescending and not helpful at all. I have never had issues with the nurses. They have always been nice and good at their jobs. I noticed the quality of the entire practice from top to bottom go downhill after the Peace Health merge. Peace Health has some stupid policies for starters. The atmosphere also became much more cold and impersonal. They brought in some new front desk people who didn't have very good customer service skills. The last time I saw a doctor at this practice was a couple of months ago. She was nice and helpful and I wouldn't mind seeing her again but I had already decided to switch doctors and practices at that point. I already had an appointment with a new doctor at Skagit Regional Clinic lined up for July. The ultimate reason that I decided to switch was a culmination of disappointments with Peace Health practices but also even moreso it was my experience with one particular doctor who was subbing for Eric Stark during one of his many absences. I have had bad experiences with a few other doctors in the past but that was by far the worst. I honestly had to get up and walk out of that room because otherwise, things might have gotten ugly. The way that woman treated me was horrible. She seriously shouldn't be practicing if she treats patients like that. It's hard to find doctors just in general nowadays but especially good quality doctors. Regardless, I would recommend looking elsewhere before considering this place.
I have been coming here now for about 10 years. I was put on citalopram when my dad passed away and also because of my obsessive-compulsive disorder. I was put on 60 mg which is 20 mg higher than the FDA approves. I took this for about six years until I was reading an article and discovered on my own that the FDA only approves 40 mg. I told my doctor Amy about the information, she looked into it and immediately lowered my dosage and had my heart checked with an EKG because the medication can cause heart algorithms. Although I do like this doctors office and the staff working there I have had a hard time with my doctor and until recently I no longer will use her. She does not return phone calls when I have called I always get another doctor who doesn't know what's going on, and she is very opinionated. If you request something that she doesn't believe in or doesn't know much about she will straight up tell you that's not what she's going to do. I once asked her a question and she said "I don't know the answer to that let me phone a friend," and I never heard back from her. I finally switched doctors. I believe they are understaffed hear the wait times have gone much longer and the doctor visits much shorter.
