On Monday while going to pick up mail at Clearlake Post office I noticed Dan’s sitting in his Precision Tree Service truck parked in the church parking lot. I went over to ask if he had a business card. He gave me a card and asked what I was looking to do. I explained there were large trees in various states of decay too close to the house and some old rotten alders were already coming down in the wind. He told me quotes are free if I wanted him to stop by. I said I was interested in a quote and told him where I live a few miles away. Dan said he could take a look now if I wanted. Dan followed us home. Dan and I walked the property to deter the scope of the work. Dan provided two quotes there and then, one for a five-man crew that would work for a day with all necessary removal equipment, the other was a by the piece quote. When I asked what he thought would be accomplished in the crew for a day quote Dan thought they would get most everything I was asking for, i.e., five fully grown alders, three large cedars, three maples that were clearcut years ago that regrew out of the trunk. All these trees were within fifty feet of the house. One alder was literally against our garden shed. There was also a rotten cedar castle-top right next to the garden shed. And finally, a huge cottonwood that was leaning due to being partially uprooted. My wife and I agreed to the crew for the day quote. Dan asked when I wanted to get started. I said I was on vacation this week so it would be nice this week if possible. Dan said he would try to arrange it this week and he would call to let me know. Dan called late afternoon to say he could do the work tomorrow. I agreed. He said they would be at the house at eight o'clock. I sent Dan a text giving a heads up that it snowed an inch on the ground. He replied there shouldn’t be a problem. Dan and five-man crew arrived at 07:50. They were in the first tree by 08:10. The crew was awesome. They worked and worked some more. To my wife’s and my astonishment, the crew finished everything that Dan said he thought they would. The crew worked around our house, garden shed, holly trees, and other plantings without damaging anything. Amazing. On top of completing the agreed work on time and in full their work area was left better than before they started. Great job, great experience and excellent value. A job well done.
