As I do not know much about Salon Saks, I am leaving my review just for Miyazaki-san, the former hair stylist at StudioOne. She's a very professional hair stylist and pays attention to details. I am not sure whether Miyazaki-san is specialized in Asian style haircuts (I am an Asian), but she did great jobs everytime at least for my hair.
After Studio One in Redmond closed in April 2018, my hairstylist of 15 years, Miyazaki-san, started working here. The stylists here are not hired by Salon Saks. Instead, they rent their space in this salon. I make appointments with her directly; I paid her directly. That said, my review is about her, not the salon itself. My Stylist: My basic haircut costs about $40 ($34 plus a tip).* It's not inexpensive, but the time she puts in and the excellent job she does each time make it worthwhile. She is Japanese, and is very experienced in cutting and styling thick (Asian) hair. How to Find the Salon: Salon Saks is not easy to find because it's overshadowed by the Bentley dealer. In fact, it's in the same building. When you turn onto 136th PL NE from NE 20th street, make a left turn onto the first entrance into a parking lot. Yes, it makes you feel like you are going on car shopping, but don't fret. Park behind the Bentley building (with all those luxurious cars!). You can't see the salon from outside, but once you go inside the building, you will see it in front of you. There are a number of experienced & expert stylists working at this location ... and Zena Harville is a fantastic professional who's been doing sophisticated & great styles for 20+ years on the Eastside. She is literally a "cut above" most stylists you'll find anywhere!
