“bro i don’t even know what to say here. if you are here for a screening to see if you are eligible for a depression trial, their screening process will just make you feel so much worse than you already do. asking all these very cold questions about your history and symptoms and trauma, what makes you eligible for a study and what makes you not, and then asking you to quantify everything, “on a scale of 1-10 how badly do you want to die? how many minutes a day do you want to kill yourself?” i understand that they’re doing it all in a very cold way to see if you meet the qualifications for a trial, but if you already feel like you’re not even a person and you’re not worth normal people things, then this will just make you feel even less like a person and even more like you don’t deserve good things based on what’s wrong with you and what’s happened to you. apparently i am too depressed for their antidepressant, which i understand is only for “mild depression” and not “severe depression,” but it also is so discouraging when you’re already at a point where you’re like, “well i’ve been trying a million different anti depressants and none of them have been working… let’s try some weird experimental drug that is still being tested,” and then the trial says, “oh no you’re way too depressed for even our trial drug” like great just let me die already

i will say though that the front desk person is super nice, and the first coordinator person i talked to was definitely trying to work with me, and i think she was a tech but she made an effort to explain everything to me. but then i conversed with three doctors in a row who were just awful, one was rude and like “you should know all this by now, you shouldn’t be asking me these questions,” and one like, “well you’re actually doing pretty well for someone who’s tried to kill themselves three times!” and the last one like, “how often do you feel emotions? how many days a week? how many hours a day?” over and over. i have felt so dead inside for so long now, but being here for five hours answering all these questions made me start crying for the first time in a long time. it was just so insensitive especially for someone working in mental health and working with people suffering from poor mental health

i will say that the snacks and drinks are good, and it is actually pretty awesome that they always have pizza on hand. nice!!“

“Dr. Marc & Olena are both wonderful people who really have your best interest in mind. This is my first experience with a psychologist and I couldn’t be happier. It truly has been life changing and I just can’t recommend them enough!“
