We have 4 animals that see the staff at Poultney Veterinary Hospital, 2 cats and 2 dogs. All of them are well on in age. We've been getting medical care for our pets since before Dr. Johnson arrived and bought the practice. We are very satisfied with the care our pets currently receive from the staff.
The cats have been pretty low maintenance although one developed a thyroid issue within the last year. It was immediately diagnosed and treated with medication. She is doing much better and at 18 years of age is still jumping gates and making her presence known. Recently one was ill and was in for a critical care visit, she was treated and is doing much better at 16+ years of age.
On to the dogs...we have two with a variety of medical issues that for years have keep the staff at the hospital on their toes. Due to Dr. Johnson and the staff keeping up on the latest research and treatment both are still going strong, if not a little slower. We will say that without the team, I'm sure neither would be living their best lives.
Additionally, we will note that on more than one occasion both dogs have needed treatment from experts outside their practice. Due to these referrals, both dogs can ambulate with little effort and one can see fairly well.

First time going lastnight. It was a wonderful experience, except they don’t have enough seating for all they allow in. The signs telling people they can’t stand in front of people sitting on the bleachers is small . The security had to constantly tell people to step away . Lots of people standing off to side. They need to put up bigger signs . Or once they reach their seating capacity turn people away. Otherwise it was fun!! I would go again .
