I've always had a good experience with MRC, but recently I got home after hours to find the hot water not working. Called a big name plumber in order to get somebody out after hours, and they quoted me $7000+ for a full water heater replacement*. I called MRC for a replacement quote, and the price they gave me was half as much for the same State 50gal unit. They came out to do the job, but upon arrival, they actually took the time to investigate the problem, and fixed it for $209. *To be completely fair to the big-name commission guys, the water heater - built in 2012 - had started working again when they arrived, making diagnosis difficult. Given the age, I understand the "just replace it" strategy. But like a lot of people, I don't have an extra $7k laying around, so I'm grateful that MRC bought me a little extra time. I will definitely call them back when it's time for a replacement.
