I was slightly apprehensive to have my hair high-lighted/low-lighted in order to hide my ever increasing gray to color ratio, but after the birth of our 4th baby and my 35th birthday, I decided It. Was. Time. =D So I looked up Aveda Salons in Richmond and discovered Salon 33. 5 minutes from my house and simply a gem! I am a brunette and I really like my natural hair color. I was so anxious that I wouldn't like how it turned out and I just really wanted the finished product to look natural and like me. I had no reason to be anxious! I scheduled a new appointment a few days ago for today, because as with so many products and services everything is backed up due to the pandemic for one reason or another. Unfortunately, the stylist I was going to see had sustained an injury, which of course happens. However, I didn't have much flexibility due to an upcoming surgery. I was crushed when I received the message from the stylist and with such limited time did not know what I would do other than take the scissors to my own hair (yikes).That said, the receptionist was very empathetic and she miraculously solved the problem by securing a different stylist, but on a very short notice. I finally found a Salon that I can finally call my go-to! The attention to detail as I walked into the salon was impressive. As a Hijabi, Stephanie, my stylist, asked my preference in seating and to find out where I would be most comfortable at since I would be removing the hijab for the service and her chair was next to male stylist. This type of attention and care rarely happens! I was floored and beyond grateful for her attention to detail. During this service I got a cut. Which included a shampoo and wash, the cut- of course, and the style. Stephanie walked me through what she suggested based on my hair type and concerns and did a phenomenal job!!!
