“A Trial Makes a Customer, as the Bill's Barbeque Guy used to say on The 50,000 Watt Voice of Virginia back-in-the-old-days.
Ms. Young learned barbering from the Lady who owned and operated Yong's Barber School in the Dunlop Village Shopping Center. Yeah, that's the sweet-spirited place where the front and back doors were often opened up for a nice cool breeze to blow thru your Heart.
She learned what a good haircut is, and she professionally practices what she learned with every customer to her shop. The shop is quiet, a bit drab, but clean, and people do NOT feel like they are in a conveyor belt type of shop where you are in-and-out-in-ten-for-20$. She is a well mannered, and peaceful Old Soul, who is getting way too rare in these crazy times, and she is trying to make your haircut something that you enjoy, not endure.
So, I got a nice calming 20 minutes of well-done haircut, at a $1.00/minute, and was able to talk with Ms. Young, and get to know her a bit, and felt that no move by her was rushed or regretted. She COULD use a large hand-held mirror at the end of things, so you can check out the back of your head, but this is a minor detail.
My visit is probably a similar experience for every person who has been in the shop, since she has 15 reviews and a solid Five Stars Rating; AND has no negative write-ups. I shall return in July for my next fifth week trim.“

“I can’t stop smiling and singing praises about Crown of Glory. I took my two extremely tender headed daughters to get their long, thick natural hair done yesterday and they didn’t cry not once. I was so relieved not to see them in pain and their hairstyles are so cute. Anitra ( owner ) inquired on how they wanted their hair to look and gave them exactly what we wanted. Anitra constantly checked in and explained what she was doing or going to do; it assured me that Anitra cared about clients wants and needs.
