The surrounding woods are stunning, with easy access to the Appalachian Trail just 0.5 miles away. The hostel's food service includes all-you-can-eat breakfast and dinner, featuring delicious food prepared with fresh ingredients from their homegrown garden and baked bread daily. Breakfast bread is noted for being really good, and the cheese and homemade pastries are also highlighted as phenomenal. The warm and welcoming atmosphere is enhanced by the thoughtful hosting of Neville, who creates a sense of community through shared meals, while also allowing guests the freedom to enjoy their own space without pressure to participate in group activities.
Nearly beyond description. Authentic 19th century cabin with added on buildings and keeping with the style. Quiet, peaceful, beautiful, and in harmony with nature.
One of our favorite stops on the entire Appalachian Trail. We would recommend anyone to stay for a relaxing stay in the remote Virginia Mountains. Great resupply, great farm fresh breakfast and dinner, cute farm animals and great accommodations. Will stay again
Although I did not stay because I cancelled my reservation, the owner was more than helpful providing shuttle info, and seemed very welcoming. For that reason, I would highly recommend staying here.
