About Doswell Truck Stop
Doswell Truck Stop is a classic truck stop that continues to offer an authentic experience for truckers. It is a no-frills place with competitive diesel fuel prices and a truck repair shop on site. Overnight guests are charged a fee for parking. The snack shop sells a variety of treats, and a Burger King is nearby for more substantial meals. The stop also has a motel and sells trucking supplies, making it a convenient stop for those on the road. The bathrooms seem to be in need of some updates, and the showers may not be the most impressive. However, the stop does not appear to be very busy, and guests may even get a view of the nearby roller coasters at Kings Dominion. The on-site motel, the Travel Plaza, is described as a low-budget option, but there are some fancier options in the vicinity. Overnight guests are charged a fee for parking, which is slightly higher than the advertised rate. The stop also offers a chapel with a chaplain, Chaplain Clint, who is available every Thursday for ministry, fellowship, and sharing the word of God.
We pulled in an was confused at first, but we found the lobby. It was easy to get the room and get in, the room is nice and clean, the bathroom is okay. Now I like the roku TV so I can sign in to my own streaming services and watch what I want. No one has messed with us and it has a really good time at this hotel. Oh there is a 24 hr resturant right across from my room(have not checked it out yet but will update when I do. Also there is a mexican resturant in the other hotels across the road. A burger King is by the way also, but we came for Kings Dominion. I definitely recommend this motel for $70 a night and it is straight across from Kings Dominion.
Bathrooms seem pretty lame. Didn't go to the showers to speak on them. But it don't seem very busy here. Kings Dominion is across the street so you may get a view or two of a moving roller coaster. There hotel here the Travel Plaza seems very low budget for the high rate of $65 a night but there's a few fancier to the right of this parking lot.
Stop here for the night the sign in the parking lot says they charge $10 for overnight parking but the guy charged me $12 got a shower could use a little bit of updating for those showers otherwise not a bad place
