    Ty is an excellent Jujitsu instructor with a very impressive resume. Whether it be Jujitsu or wrestling you are looking for you would be hard pressed to find someone more capable. You can look forward to practical real life and nauanced technical instruction and classes that can be an intense workouts.

    Really great instructors and great learning environment. Coach Tye has more experience in the grappling business than anybody in Utah and is very invested in his students. You will succeed at this place.

    Been with Ty for over 3.5 years now. Ty is the real deal. A master in the Arts. If you really want to learn great self defense from standing to clinching to takedowns and submissions on the ground then this might be a good fit for you. Ty's deep knowledge and experience goes into his personalized teaching and it feels like you are getting an invaluable private lesson from him every time.

From Mountain West Grappling

At Mountain West Grappling, you are taught a mixed martial arts combining many of the arts Professor Ty accrued over the years such as Japanese Jujitsu, Brazilian Jiujitsu, Judo, Hapkido, Sambo and Wrestling. The main focus is self defense. You will learn how to throw or take down an opponent, be in control of many situations and positions. You will learn how to get out of many positions and counter your opponents. You will learn joint locks, joint breaks, chokes, proper technique of throws and submissions. We work on exercises that strengthens your core muscles. Ty loves everyone he works with and he isn't afraid to express that. He just wants you to do your very best.
