I'm a guy who never knew or even tried taking care of my skin. Despite being self-conscious since high school (now 33) I just dealt with it because "I'm a dude." This past year I decided to make some changes. To invest in taking care of myself, primarily my mental and physical health. Part of that included my skin, tired of thinking "ew" everytime I looked in a mirror. Now they says to be happy in your own skin, but that should be followed by: "so take good care of it." Kinda hard to do though when you don't know how or where to start. I think my knowledge started with "lotion good" and "dirt bad". I needed help and luckily in my search, I found and called Silkey Skin MD. I made an appointment and showed up that first time a bit embarrassed about what I thought of as "beauty treatment." From the moment I walked in, I was made to feel comfortable... By Jana the receptionist (you know those folks you come across that are truly happy? She's like that). Then even more so by Leigh during my consultation. I explained what I wanted along with my concerns/ignorance. Kind and understanding throughout, after finding out my needs, she explained and presented a plan of action in a way I understood. Start to finish, it was clear she knew and loved what she did, as well as a genuine desire to help me. It wasn't hard to say yes to her proposed treatment. I remember leaving with a feeling of relief, thinking "I'm really going to get this fixed." Might sound silly, but it felt good. I've now been a handful of times, Leigh's plan did work better than I thought possible. The other staff I've met (Cay and Sadie) made it clear they love their job and care about their customers. Every visit always felt personal, and it should be, though so rarely is. Truly, thank you all. Gotta say its a nice change to now look in the mirror and think: "Well hello there you handsome devil." So my fellow dudes... Call it what you want; beauty treatment, masculine mc'face stuff, etc. It's worth finding the reason I often ask myself: "Why did I wait so long?"
I literally look forward to my visits here. Not just for the amazing results I see when I leave, but to see and visit with the staff. They are the best! Anytime I’m asked what I want for Christmas, Birthday, Valentines, etc. it’s always a gift card to this place. I simply can’t get enough of it!
