Great place for a stop and for getting gas. The store has everything you need for a day out in the desert. The gas is moderately priced compared to other gas stations in the rural area of Southern Utah.

While driving around on the rattly, bumpy roads outside Escalante, we noticed a slow leak in one of the tires. We filled the tire, but it partially deflated overnight. Fortunately, we were staying right down the street from Cottam's Auto Service, and they were able to get us in and fix the leak first thing this morning, for what I felt was a very fair price. So far, so good; we're in Vegas, 350 miles and half way home, and the fix is holding.During the shaking we experienced on those roads, one of our headlight bulbs went out. My check engine light came on briefly while I was in town on a cross-country road trip. I stopped here in hopes someone could take a look and help put my mind at ease since I still had many miles ahead of me. They kindly ran the diagnostics, said I was good to go, and didn't want to charge me a thing. I insisted they take the $5 I had in my wallet but would have gladly paid more just to have the peace of mind.
