Vanhoozer Farm is highly regarded for its excellent riding facilities and dedicated staff. The trainer, Gabby, is known for her hard work, honesty, and professional attitude. She is very knowledgeable in dressage and has significantly helped horses improve and mature. The farm maintains a clean and well-organized barn, emphasizing safety and respect for both horses and riders. Gabby is attentive and patient, especially with beginner riders, including young children learning the basics of riding and horse care. She teaches proper techniques for approaching, grooming, and saddling horses, always prioritizing safety and respect. Many parents appreciate her courteous and professional manner, trusting her to teach their children valuable lessons beyond riding. Overall, Vanhoozer Farm is considered one of the best places around, with a reputation for quality instruction, safety, and a supportive environment for riders of all levels.
I've boarded here, ride here often, and have watched the trainer in action. It's one of the best places around, without a doubt. Gabby is hard working and honest.
To start, I am not friends with Gabby or the owners of the property. Living in the area I of course have knowledge of the facility and business but prior to a recommendation by a family member, who is a very experienced equestrian, I had never met any of the employees of VanHoozer Farm. For close to the past year my two young children have been taking riding lessons with Gabby. They were both beginners. Safety was her first concern. She taught them the very basics to begin, how to approach and walk around your horse, not to run in the barn, to how to groom both before and after their lesson and how to properly saddle (with help). There are frankly too many things to list regarding what they have learned from Gabby. She is present the entire time and demands their attention both for their safety, hers, and the animals. She commands respect and rightfully so. She’s in a position of being responsible for the safety of the two most important people in my life, she’s in a position of being trusted with not only very expensive animals but animals that are the livelihood of many families (some being pets) and she’s in charge of employees. My children will continue to take lessons with Gabby as she’s taught them countless lessons, beyond how to ride a horse. She has been nothing but polite, nothing but professional and nothing but courteous. Needless to say the “experience” some others felt is far from ours. And everyone’s I know.
Owner, Barbara is an amazing woman! My 9-year old granddaughter had a great day learning to groom, saddle, and ride, with a bonus lesson … how to shovel the … 💓 Barbara spent all the time my granddaughter wanted, giving her memorable lessons about horses. The horse farm is clean and organized. And if these horses could talk, they would be praising the care and love they receive. Barbara truly is a horse whisperer!
