Our journey has been long and painful. We got incredibly sick after living in a newly built home with major construction flaws — the worst of which was an improperly designed and installed HVAC system. The poor airflow and moisture control and poor attic ventilation led to severe mold contamination. Our health deteriorated, and we had no choice but to move out. For five years, we’ve been renting and bouncing between temporary homes, trying to heal and searching for a place that wouldn't make us sick. Crossway Mechanical came highly recommended to me by a mold remediator who had been helping me narrow down homes to purchase. My family and I suffer from pretty severe mold illness after living in mold for a few years. The remediator told me flat out that my first priority should be getting the hvac of any house I want to purchase, thoroughly checked out. He said Brian Wright was the guy to go to, and boy was he right! I hired Crossway Mechanical several times before we finally found a house that was free from mold and didn't have an extensive repair list to the hvac system. Each home was checked from top to bottom and a detailed report complete with photos was written and handed over to me by Axel Romero, Brian's right hand guy. I learned a ton from these inspections and reports, and feel so much more empowered to keep my home properly maintained and safe. The home we ended up purchasing was a brand new build, and as almost all new builds go, this one had some hvac problems. Brian and Axel inspected the Hvac system three times, each time helping me stand my ground with the builder until the hvac issues were resolved fully. I was able to finally put my family into a home I feel good about and we can begin to heal from our mold illness.
