Leanne Gilder, O.D. is a Therapeutic Optometrist specializing in primary care and the diagnosis and treatment of ocular disease. She is proficient in utilizing state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment to assess candidacy for laser vision correction and cataract surgery and administers pre- and post-operative care for both procedures. Dr. Gilder grew up in Lafayette, Louisiana and attended Louisiana State University where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She then earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry, where she received a clinical letter of excellence and actively participated in the Fellowship of Christian Optometrists organization.

Dr. Leanne, Gilder and Kimberly Huber, the lasik counselor, both went above and beyond to make sure I was absolutely happy with my visit. I really appreciated Dr. Gilder laying out my options and what she felt would be best for my specific eye condition and Kimberly was very understanding and prompt in her response to my follow-up questions. Even when I decided to hold off on my procedure due to personal circumstances, everyone was very understanding and gracious. Would definitely recommend.
There aren’t enough great things I can say about Dr. Gilder! She’s been there through every step of the process I’ve had on my Lasik journey and made sure I was taken care of from start to finish with my prescription eye drops to treat my dry eye and making sure Lasik was 100% the best option for me. I’ve never had such great customer service and never felt so comfortable with any doctor in any field of medicine before. Thank you so much, Dr. Gilder, I genuinely appreciate you and Mann Eye Institute!!
I was pleased with the doctor's time spent with me, however: My reason for an "OK" rating? After the initial check-in and visit with an assistant, I was left with, "The doctor will be right in to see you." 45 minutes later, the doctor comes in. In that 45 minutes, no one opened the door and advised me that I hadn't been forgotten, and the doctor never apologized for the inattentiveness or delay. I gave them another 5 minutes, whereby I planned on walking out when the doctor finally showed. This is not acceptable treatment of a patient. This was Mann Eye Institute, The Woodlands.
