About Ultimate Warrior Martial Arts
Ultimate Warrior Martial Arts is a comprehensive martial arts training facility that offers instruction in a wide range of disciplines. The dojo provides training in striking techniques using hands, feet, and other body parts, as well as joint-locking, submissions, throws, takedowns, falling techniques, acrobatics, traditional and practical weapons training, and strength and conditioning. The studio has been highly recommended by a trusted friend of a parent, who was impressed by the methodology and approach of the owner, Jake, and his staff. They were described as firm yet nurturing, disciplined, and still able to make the training fun for the students. This parent chose Ultimate Warrior over other successful studios in the area, as they felt the other places were more "industrial" and focused on appearances rather than the desired nurturing environment. The parent's son, who is now eight years old, has been attending the dojo for a year and has had a very positive experience. He has been able to learn self-defense skills at a natural pace while also having fun. The training has also helped the son, who is described as clumsy, to learn effective falling techniques. After just one class, the son was able to apply these skills when he was bucked off a horse, saving himself from injury. The owner, Jake, is praised for his ability to attract a community of kind and supportive parents, students, and coaches. The family-like atmosphere and the effectiveness of the training methods have made Ultimate Warrior Martial Arts a perfect fit for this family, and they have no plans to go anywhere else.
Our son, Will, joined Ultimate Warrior in 2021. The coaches were extremely welcoming, and we immediately felt like family. Additionally, the coaches are highly skilled and experienced martial artists themselves. They run tough classes, at a pace that challenges the class without discouraging them. There’s a real finesse to that, and the coaches at UW are impressively good at it. Belt test days (and the following potlucks) are a real opportunity to see the incredible work these coaches do with students of all ages and abilities. The potlucks and social events really show that UW wants to be part of our local community. From potlucks to parents nights out to holiday parties … they always try to find time for fun, not only to reward their hard-working students, but to build bonds among them as well.
