My wife and I have been seeing Dr. Castro at Texas State Optical for about three years now, and every visit has been a great experience. From the moment you walk in, the staff makes you feel welcome. They’re professional, friendly, patient, and always willing to help with any questions we have.
Dr. Castro takes his time, explains everything clearly, and never makes you feel rushed. You can tell he genuinely cares about his patients and wants to make sure you understand your eye health and options. The communication from the office is also excellent — appointment reminders, follow-ups, and any updates are always handled efficiently and clearly.
I love this place, professional, empathetic, compassionate. They are very understanding and patient. I highly recommend this optometrist and team to anyone looking for an eye doctor

I am a newer patient there but I feel like service has been excellent. Tommie has gone above and beyond especially with helping me with my glasses and Dr. Castro as well. I had an issue with my new glasses when I came in and stopped by but Dr. Castro and Tommie really took their time to address my concerns and needs, including re-evaluating my vision when I stopped in (this was unplanned and I offered to come back another time as it was close to closing time but both were so accommodating). So far, I am very satisfied with the office and their efforts in going above and beyond.
