About Fort Sam Houston Golf Course
The Fort Sam Houston Golf Course offers a challenging golfing experience with a mix of trees, water hazards, and hilly terrain. While the course may not be in perfect condition, with some bare patches and poorly maintained traps, it provides good value for 18 holes and a cart. The staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is relaxed, making it enjoyable for golfers of all skill levels. Recent visitors have noted that the course is well-maintained, with beautiful scenery and a layout that’s both challenging and fun. The pro shop staff is helpful, and the course is suitable for players with a driver, pitching wedge, and putter. However, some players have experienced waiting behind groups of four and difficulty playing through. The practice range is small and doesn't have tees or flags, and the old range ball dispenser is being updated. Overall, the course is worth a visit for those looking for a good round of golf in a friendly environment.
Not playing there anymore. They ran out of carts for golfers. They had a school function and gave all the carts to spectators instead of paying customers. Good courses but there are plenty of them in SA.
Played here with my sister and brother both of them have never been on a golf course before, despite the reviews I went, everything was in excellent condition, from Tee boxes, fairway, and striped greens. Paid $35 for a twilight hour Tee time, played 14 holes, and my little brother and sister had a blast, will for sure be my go to course when I'm coming down from Florida to them down here in Texas.
Its a great course. But it's always something, last time there was no carts. this time the boys in the Pro Shop made it up to us but the cafe was closed due to some sort of an inspection. The tee boxes and fairways were really nice but the greens were wet and slow. And there was definitely some standing water
