The rescue relies on donations and operates independently, allowing them to prioritize the best interests of the animals. A souvenir shop is also available on site. Visitors are encouraged to make a donation, such as $10 per person, to support the rescue's efforts. With its peaceful atmosphere and educational value, Peaceful Valley Donkey Rescue is a must-visit destination for anyone looking to learn about and support animal welfare. The rescue currently has 1,300 animals in their care, and it takes a lot of effort and resources to provide for them, including 23 round bales of hay per day. The staff and volunteers work tirelessly to ensure the well-being of the friendly and docile animals, making it a worthy cause for donations and support.
An incredible place to visit, the tour is full of useful information, and definitely will be coming back anytime we are back in San Angelo. There are even babies for all of those animal lovers.
Been donating to PVDR for a time. Never visited until today. This place is amazing; the work they do for the friendly, docile animals!
They currently have 1,300 animals in their purview. It is very obvious it takes a village and a lot ot hay...23 rounds bales a day I was told. That is a truckload a day and it takes an armored car of cash!
Everyone and a multitude of charities seek funds for their purposes. PVDR is a Very worthy use of your hard earned funds. Taking care of God's neglected creatures IS a worthy cause.
We decided to do a weekend trip to San Angelo since my husband and I have never been there. Really enjoyed the beautiful little town, the Riverwalk, restaurants, and all the art displays were wonderful , but the highlight of our trip was getting to tour the peaceful valley donkey rescue! Our tour guide I believe her name was Vanessa was amazing …so knowledgeable about the operation, and knew numerous donkeys by name. We learned a lot and we were lucky enough to love on a week old baby. Thank you for what you do.
