About Frost Dental Care

Frost Dental Care is a privately-owned practice in Pearland founded by Dr. Angela Frost. The practice focuses on providing high quality dental care at affordable prices for the whole family. Patients praise the practice for its professional and polite staff, including the receptionists, dental assistants, and hygienists. They highlight the thoroughness and gentleness of the care provided, noting that Dr. Frost pays attention to individual needs and performs a comprehensive exam, including jaw function, mouth cancer screening, and periodontal pocket depth measurements. Patients also appreciate the practice's honesty and transparency. They mention that they have never felt pressured into unnecessary procedures, unlike experiences at previous dental offices. One patient, who had a severely cracked tooth, shares how Dr. Frost and her staff effectively handled the situation, resulting in a lasting solution. Frost Dental Care's commitment to excellent care has led to patients, some who have moved away, continuing to travel back to Pearland for their dental needs. They consistently describe the staff as amazing and consider Frost Dental Care to be the best dental practice they have ever encountered.

Update: The office manager, Jessica, personally reached out. I truly appreciate the way she listened and made a genuine effort to resolve my concerns. She did resolve my concerns 100%. I’m grateful for her call and the resolution. I was also informed that Delta Dental plan coverage can vary. Although this was not clearly explained to me before my visit, I appreciate the info now. Patients should be explicitly told when they will be paying out of pocket and that reimbursement is not guaranteed before being seen. I am sure there will be clearer transparent communication upfront for future patients. I also want to note that Dr. Frost was very kind and professional during my visit, and the dental assistant who took my X-rays was especially helpful and honest when answering my questions. I appreciated that more than she probably realized. ________________________ For most of my life, I have gone to MX for my dental work, so I am embarrassingly unfamiliar with how insurance works. BUT I finally scheduled an appointment with Frost Dental after getting insurance in Feb 2026. Just a few hours before my apt, Nicole from the front desk called to apologize for not verifying my insurance sooner and said she would check it. When she called back, she told me they no longer accept my insurance. I asked directly whether I should cancel and find a provider who does accept it. Instead of giving honest guidance, she insisted I keep the appointment. Bc I was in significant pain, I trusted her and kept the appointment. Once there, I again asked about the insurance. She never disclosed that I would be paying out of pocket for that visit. Not prior to the appointment, and not prior to being seen by Dr. Frost. I was being very open and honest, asking Nicole what would make the most financial sense for a limited income, and she was persistent that it would be best to stay with their office. So I said okay, and I waited to be seen. After waiting over an hour for X-rays and twenty minutes to briefly see Dr. Frost (for about ten minutes), I was told I needed additional work. Dr. Frost was very kind, and apologized for the delay. She left. Then, the girl that did my XRays started going over prices. I asked her about my insurance and asked the same questions I asked Nicole. However, she gave me a completely different answer. She stated that if it were her, she would go to a practice that actually accepts my insurance to avoid huge out-of-pocket costs. I thanked her profusely. But within seconds, Nicole re-entered and began pushing their in-house membership discount plan (30% off services) suggesting I come there as a non-insured patient for smaller procedures (cleanings, fillings) and use a completely different office for larger procedures like root canals. This was completely inconsistent with what she had told me earlier about keeping all care with one dentist. After that, I finally realized, she was NOT someone I should have trusted, so I just said "I have to check with my husband to see what he wants me to do." She said okay, and walked me to checkout, where she charged me $150 and told me that my insurance would reimburse me directly. Four weeks later, I have received nothing. The office’s handling of insurance is not transparent and could easily result in patients being overcharged or misled. Patients deserve clarity and honesty before sitting in the chair. Not inconsistent advice or sales pitches after they are already vulnerable. I left feeling misled, financially anxious, and EXTREMELY disappointed. People need to be aware of the office’s handling of insurance so they don’t end up in the same confusing and stressful situation I did. $150 for them to tell me a filling came out.
