City Shoe Shop is a historic Texas landmark located in the heart of downtown Palestine. This boot repair shop shows great attention to detail and can handle everything from a heel to a full sole. The staff are very nice, professional, and welcoming, taking special care of their customers. They warmly help figure out what is needed and complete repairs promptly. In addition to repairs, they sell belts, boots, and lots of things about shoes. Customers describe the quality service as a blessing, leaving with items that feel brand new. It is a cherished local business with a true Texan tradition.
I’ve taken customers there a few years back, when I drove a bus. I never knew of the Texas tradition the City Shoe Shop had. I knew I needed my boots stretched because I had them for over a year and wore them 4 times. They sat in my closet. My foot wouldn’t go in easy any longer. The gentleman in the shop was very busy tending to others shoes. He came up and said he’d try to stretch them but don’t expect a miracle. The lady gave me a ticket and called me when they were done. Old boots, new soles! These boots have been with me since 2018, and there is no boot repair shop near me where I live in Oregon, USA! While visiting Palestine, Texas, we happened upon City Boots, downtown. What a blessing it was. Robert welcomed us warmly, helped us figure out what we needed, and chatted with us about our home state and our trip here. He had my boots done in under two days and cleaned them up for the first time in 4 years. It's like having a brand new pair! I will bring another pair to Robert on my next visit to town.
