LET ME TELL YOU A STORY! So, I have spent the last year struggling to get clearer vision. This last April I went to a Doc in the Box, like Americas Best Contacts & Glasses, as an example, that only helped my distance, this was only tolerable for a couple months. Had to recover the funds, because VSP Insurance sucks, and off to another I went. This time, in October, He was able to correct my focusing up close, but the distance was not as sharp as it could have been. So I managed through the holidays and into the first week of February, then, once again, I'd had enough. A friend who knew I was having these issues recommended I go see Dr. Jeannie Gray at Optics Unique, this is no Doc in the Box, this is hers and her husbands practice. I made an appointment, BEST DECISION EVER. Now, besides the office being chock full of attractive ladies, from the moment I walked in the customer service was through the roof. They were all smiling, friendly, very professional, and gave a very genuine impression of wanting to help me figure out my eye balls. So, I was in the exam room, and in comes Dr. Jeannie Gray, huge smile, welcomed me to Optics Unique like you would welcome a relative that you haven't seen in years into your home. Unlike any Optometrist I have ever dealt with, she was very inquisitive, had me tell my crazy story of being in search of better vision, we had several short conversations on different subjects, she never rushed, and then she pulled wheel of eye vision in front of me. "1or 2, 3, or 4,... "1 or 2", you know the drill. However, this was different, where other OD's had spun those test lenses like a roulette wheel, she was slower, more methodical, and was asking far more questions as to how things looked to me. She rolled back, smiled and said, "I think I have you figured out", I replied, "Oh do you now", jokingly, she chuckled and said yes, "Your vision is in need of tri-focals", say what?!?! Tri-focals, me? I told her that I was game to try anything, so she brought the wheel of eye vision back around and said, "yep, let me just polish this up", wow, that big of a vote of confidence there was no way I was going to say no and walk. She asked if there was anything else, and I mentioned that on a rare occasion my eyes will spontaneously burn and water quite hard, immediately she jumped up, grabbed some eye drops, said they would dye my eyes red temporarily, and grabbed another contraption and swung it around in front of me. Now I don't know what it does, but I couldn't blink, and then she turned a light on in it,,I now have a really good idea of what a moth must see when it bounces off of a light bulb. She leaned back and said I had a mild case of dry eye syndrome, gave me a coupon and we left the room. She actually walked me all of the way out, not because I was stinky, I don't think, I had showered that morning, but because I feel that is her genuine level of care. She put me with another very sweet lady. Who helped me pick out frames. Very nice lady. 14 days later, my new glasses arrive, I go in, the lady that helped me pick out my frames sat down with me and said that she was as excited as I was. THEN, I put them on,,,HOLY MOLY HOOLY HANA MAMA!!! I CAN SEE!!! I have no issues, I can see up close, far away, mid-range, all of it, and all in perfect focus. If you need glasses or contacts and you don't go see Dr. Jeannie Gray, you are wasting your time & money. THANK YOU, DR. J & EVERYONE AT OPTICS UNlQUE!
