Located in the Tuscan Village salon shops Atascocita, the location is convenient, clean and this gem may be tiny but it's big on hospitality and you are always greeted with a smile. The salons in tuscan village are all private and privately owned and operated. As a male, i wanted to venture out from the typical chop shops that are franchise owned and have less than experienced stylists cutting my hair. I ventured out of the comfort zone and crowded waiting rooms of a typical barber shop and hair salon to truly find a better experience. As a male patron, i loved the private shops inside tuscan village. A sneak peek into the life and world of women and how and where they go to reward, spoil and pamper themselves. 'Hair by Michelle' is owned by michelle favors, a former owner of multiple salons who is the answer to those bad hair days. During the summer of 2012, i attended this salon twice and both times i was happy not only with my cut but the attention i received and the amount of time. As a male patron one of my concerns is the amount of time that is spent because there are too many stylists who shouldn't be stylists in the first place not spending enough time on a head and making the person feel comfortable and giving them the time they deserve. The facilities are a former 'Albertson's' grocery store during the 1990's that was remodeled and re-opened as Tuscan Village Shops which (off the top of my head) probably has 30 independent salons and vendors inside the building. The concept, which i thought was cool was upscale compared to the traditional hair studios and cookie cutter franchises that we all grew up with. Now, since i have found this hidden gem of a salon, my task today is go get my haircut by a regular sports clips and weigh today's experience against these two experiences i have had at 'Hair by Michelle'. Appt is necessary as this is not a walk-in type of place. Since i grew up in Atascocita and have more than half of my friend base still centrally located in and around Atascocita, Humble and Kingwood, i would highly recommend 'Hair by Michelle' to any and all of my friends and family who are in and around the area.“

“Mary Kay is wonderful! She made my autistic 2 year old feel comfortable and worked with him! She had him play with toys and invited him to sit on the chair and bring the toys to play with while getting his haircut. She introduced the tools to him and feel the vibrations of the clipper so he was used to it. He was distracted by the toys the entire time and did very well sitting for his haircut. He looks adorable and I will definitely be coming back!“

“Laura really knows her stuff! We discovered her by accident but it was surely meant to be. We can't go anywhere else. We were looking for a place to get my son's hair cut. When we walked into her place because we happened to be in the area, we asked how much for a haircut, when she said $15, that blew our minds! Everywhere we had gone prior was minimum $30. We gave her a try and she recommended a high and right hair cut for my son and wow! It was fabulous! He's been sporting the same hair cut since. Every time my son and husband walk out of that place they look 10x more handsome than ever! She's very friendly and down to earth and prices are just A++. I had asked her why do you keep your prices so low when you're so experienced and does a magnificent job and she just said she just wants to be affordable and fair. She just gave me a great layered cut and added hair color to my dull lifeless hair. I feel so vibrant and alive. She's life!
