“We live on a rural dead-end road which is usually quiet. One morning at 2AM we had 2 cars and 4 thieves show up looking for plunder. Fortunately, our neighbors Great Pyrenees ran them off prior to any damage, but we decided to put in a gate with an electric opener to beef up security. I did what I thought was adequate due diligence and selected arm type actuators for my two 9' wide swing gates. The first windstorm after installation found one of the gate openers had broken. Long story short, the opener brand I selected was not adequate for a windy location. After further research I found Jay at Gate Openers Direct and explained my situation. He recommended Viking G6 openers which are much more robust. The delivery required special instructions since semi's don't fit on my rural road which they coordinated with the shipper. I installed everything without any problems according to the instructions. I had to consult with Jay on a few questions which he promptly answered. Everything worked as advertised, and last night we got the acid test, a big windstorm. The wind destroyed my ham radio antenna, knocked over and broke my wife's heavy clay pots and several heavy iron benches. But the gate openers held without any problems. So, Jay's recommendation was right on. I recommend you talk to Jay at Gate Openers Direct before you buy anywhere else.“
