The best place to go and get your eyes checked

  • Apr 2022

Dr Panzer not only saved my driving vision, he saved my life! I’m 61 years old and jumped on the RK bandwagon in my 30s working the Er with several employees wanting to find that magical 2020 vision without Coca Cola eye glasses. During recent years, my vision could not be corrected to even 20/30 with glasses being worn since my RK. The last 3 years have been not pleasant to say the least. Red eyes, extreme glare with driving, unable to tolerate any wind or even Fans blowing. I went back to original clinic where my RK with enhancements were completed - all 10 cuts on each eye, and told I had Sjogrens Disease based on family history with severe dry eyes. I completed 500 worth of blood work with NO autoimmune markers on several lab tests. I tried Restasis for one year paying the 500 monthly, no help after completing high dose steroids: tried Xydra with blurred vision up to 2 hours after installation. Tried the newest FDA approved generic Chantex nasal spray which burned my nose and I had prior side effects when I took the drug for smoking cessation. I was told nothing else could be done. I was using Systane ultra eye drops every 1/2 hours, warm compresses several times daily, using anti glare over glasses to drive with still no relief. Being an Er nurse, I tell my patients to get a 2nd or 3rd opinion and followed my own advice. I came across Houston Dry Clinic on my google search looking for LED treatment for what I believed was chronic dry eye. After just a couple of tests and a tear test at Dr Panzers clinic, I learned my condition is from the RK surgery many years ago distorting cornea shape. I was fitted and measured for sclera lenses which I’m wearing now as I type! Praise the Lord for having a normal life again! I can see well enough to drive and using readers for my close up vision for computer work and playing the organ and piano. Dr Panzer called me on Saturday afternoon after 2 days wearing the sclera’s and provided more tips. He truly cares for the vision of his patients and for that I am forever grateful. If you are looking for a compassionate eye doctor, he is the one for you! Thank you to the awesome staff and Dr Panzer for restoring my vision!!!
