Ahhhhhh the good old AAFES Barber Shop. Every military base has one of these, and seemingly, every military base has the same exact one, with the same exact older ladies cutting hair. I'm not kidding - I swear I've had the same old Korean lady cutting my hair at every single barber shop, at every base, around the world, for my entire 21 year career. But, no complaints. It's a barber shop on a Army Post that cuts mostly Army hair and they can give ya an Army standard for haircut. If you're looking for some fashionable faddish style, this might not be the place for you. You can always ask, but it'll be hit or miss if the ladies can do it. Honestly, it's about $1-$2 more than other places like great clips, however, it's the same price at all these shops world wide. So at least there's consistency. I do like that their clippers all have that vacuum attachment on them, which helps suck in and capture the little hairs as they buzz your head. Helps keep hair off the uniform and from being itchy when you go back to work. There's about 4 of these on Ft Bliss here. So there's never a shortage of places to get a haircut on base. No excuses lol
No pics. This is a really nice upscale place. The food is good but stay away from the greasy barbecue. (It was the only sub par food that I ate)Loved the intimate shops along the walkway and lovely outdoor mall. Bring your umbrella and thermos, it's hot out here.
Convenient and inexpensive. If you know someone who gets their hair done here, ask them for the name of the ladies they trust. One day you can get a good fade and another day not. It all depends which lady cuts your hair. They accept military star card, normal debit/credit card and cash.
