“Summation: Anna is great for those suffering chronic pain. She knows the human body, can see issues just by watching her clients walk toward her or by looking at and/or feeling areas where she thinks pain is originating from. In addition, she doesn't exclude other options/providers if she believes those treatments are going to benefit her clients - but rather suggests using those providers in conjunction with her services.
I have lived with chronic pain since an accident in 1983 with periods of severe pain as well as periods of less, almost no pain. Further various injuries exacerbated the pain even more over the years. Chiropractic treatments have helped in the past - until a new one caused more adverse issues than he was helping.
In the fall of 2023, I began experiencing severe pain in my left knee. I used a mobile scooter on a cruise in January 24 due to my inability to walk at all. The pain eased some for a couple of months, then was back in full force - in both knees in April 2024.
I had seen Anna's sign a couple of times and made an appointment. She immediately told me the issue wasn't my knees but my tailbone was out of alignment. I was going to her twice a week and had some relief, but the tailbone wouldn't stay in alignment. Besides knowing exactly where to treat the body, another area Anna shines in is not being so competitive with benefits others can provide in order to gain relief. She suggested I go to a chiropractor to see if those treatments could supplement what Anna was achieving.
The chiropractor confirmed what Anna had found and between going to Anna twice a week and the chiropractor a few times, I began to see improvement pretty quickly. I was finally able to walk upstairs the 'normal' way and can still do that today.
Another treatment Anna suggested was a lymphatic massage - and she was fully supportive of me using someone in town to do those who was available at times Anna wasn't. As I said, my well being and healing is Anna's concern - she'd rather work in union with others who can provide what is needed rather than getting competitive.
I am now on maintenance with Anna - going about once every three weeks. When I went this past week, I told her I wasn't experiencing any significant pain - but she still found the tight spots that I didn't even realize were painful. Sometimes, you live with pain for so long, that it's just part of your life / identity. When there's significant relief, you have to push to realize you are still in pain, it's just not the pain you're familiar with. That's where I'm at with Anna now - and realizing pain should not be something I accept as my life.
When a person lives with chronic pain, the question about rating your pain on a level of 1-10, with 10 being the worst becomes very hard to gauge. A 10 on the scale of a person living with chronic pain - at a guess - would rate 15+ for others who do not live with pain chronically. On my scale, I can now rate my pain at >1 - but as the last appointment with Anna revealed, she only had to lightly touch a couple of spots to reveal significant pain. We're now working on pain that doesn't really register until she 'feels' it for me.“
