The pluses: Rolesa is a dependable company with an established reputation as reliable here in the valley. The owner, Ramiro, is accessible (most of the time) and is willing to listen to your concerns and suggestions. I am impressed with his attitude and willingness to work out things with the driver. Most of his employees are happy working there. The company pays promptly and is transparent in that sense giving you a detailed sheet of deductions and miles. And the equipment is maintained in good working order though they can get backed up. Drivers fuel up in the yard which is convenient and saves both money and time. However, there were a few negatives there. The area is very dark at night and there is insufficient parking available, causing delays. You cannot fuel up yourself, so that can cause a delay if you arrive after hours on a trip and no one is available to fuel up for you. And I found the landing gear to be difficult to retract and expand, possibly due to rust, age, and/or inadequate maintenance, tire rims had too much rust. My dispatcher, Leo threw temper tantrums and seemed very inexperienced, and making many mistakes, like sending me to the wrong location and having me wait in two full days for the load to be ready. I wasn't provided with correct pick up and delivery times. I missed Christmas while in Ft. Worth due to not being told the business would close at 1:00 pm December 23rd and not be open until after Christmas. Expect to be out on the road 2-3 week intervals. I also requested an inverter be installed for a microwave, and it was never installed. I paid $300 for the 1200 watt inverter and they never installed it, telling me the mechanics had not time to do it. I was going to be charged $175 for this. Sometimes, the mechanics were surly and unfriendly and did not repair listed items for repair promptly. They should work on that. However, Rolesa is still one of the better companies to work for in the RGV valley, and Ramiro has a great attitude.
