“After letting a lonely little paper wasp keep its nest under our patio table, it rapidly grew to a very large nest just a few feet from where we sit. I did not want to kill them since they did not bother us (apparently they can recognize faces!) but I was concerned with accidently upsetting a growing colony. Thankfully Brian came out to spray a non-toxic minty-smelling deterent around the house and safely took the whole nest and colony to be relocated to their ranch.
