About Urology of Central Texas | Cedar Park

Pediatrix Urology of Central Texas has received mixed feedback from parents regarding their experiences. Some parents expressed dissatisfaction with the front office staff, noting issues like appointment changes without notification and unexpected payment requirements. Despite these concerns, many praised the quality of care provided by the nurses and doctors, particularly highlighting the exceptional bedside manner of Dr. McQuiston. Parents appreciated her thorough explanations and the time she took to address their concerns. However, there are concerns about the brief duration of appointments, which often lasted less than 20 minutes, leading to a feeling of being rushed. Overall, while the medical staff is commendable, improvements in the front office operations and appointment scheduling are needed.

I want to start by saying that the 3 stars has NOTHING to do with Dr. McQuiston. She is an angel on earth and I absolutely love her, the ultrasound staff and her nursing staff. My daughter has a kidney condition that I would feel much more anxious about if it wasn't for the medical staff in this office. The 3 stars is specifically in regards to the office and scheduling staff. Honestly, if the doctor wasn't so great I would have given 1 star and found a different provider. I've discussed my concerns directly with the office and have not seen any improvement so I guess it's safe to assume they are comfortable with frustrating parents of patients on a regular basis. It is impossible to actually schedule a 6 month follow-up at the 6 month mark. When you check out from your appointment, the office staff won't allow you to schedule it. They claim you will get a letter when it's time, but that will never come. Last time I left, I put a reminder on my calendar to call to schedule, but they were already booked out past 6 months at my desired clinic. Like how??? If you don't book out that far when I check out, how do you not have anything available when I call 3 months prior?? Make is make sense Children's Urology. On top of that, the staff will sound bored AND annoyed to be "dealing" with you. The *office* staff here is unorganized, uncaring and just overall unsatisfying- but the doctor more than makes up for it.

We've had two appointments with a pediatric urologist for my son at this facility. Each visit costed us a $400 copay, with a billed amount of $600 to our insurance, and unfortunately, these appointments lasted less than 20 minutes. Both times, we felt rushed. Many specialists typically allocate 30-45 minutes for their patients. It's unclear whether this is an issue specific to one urologist or a practice-wide concern. There's a need for a reevaluation of their billing and scheduling procedures to ensure that patients receive sufficient time to thoroughly address their concerns.

The front office staff is terrible. They changed our appointment time without warning, only knew because of a voicemail confirming the appt. and never warned us about the payments we would have to make upfront (besides the $150). The nurse and doctor were great but I would go somewhere else just so I wouldn't have to deal with the front office.
