About Fencing Institute of Texas Inc
Fencing Institute of Texas Inc. (FIT) is a leading three-weapon fencing club located in North Texas. With four Master level Fencing Coaches and a variety of other skilled instructors, FIT has produced two Olympians and many National Team fencers. The club offers Olympic and Paralympic fencing for ages 6 and older, catering to both recreational and competitive fencers in foil, epee, and sabre. FIT also hosts a Victorian fencing group and has a strong adult community. The spacious facility provides a friendly learning environment, complete with a full armory and national-level staff. Many find the introductory lessons enjoyable and informative, with knowledgeable instructors making the experience fun for both young and older learners. As a non-profit organization, FIT emphasizes accessibility to the unique sport of fencing for all ages.
I have yet to check out this place however it's on my to do list. I think fencing is an extremely cool activity to try out, but I've noticed that the website wasn't very easy to book a class or attend trainings... I did call to inquire or get more information and I was told to call back after 6 PM. I'll probably just have to walk in there one day and hope for the best. VERY cool that they offer wheelchair fencing, thank you for considering disabled people
This is a very spacious club offering a very warm and friendly learning environment. All services and weapons are available including a full armory. This is a very solid club with national level staff all over the club.
I found a photo from my introductory lesson. This is not recent but I will still share my experience. It was super fun and informative. The instructor was knowledgeable. I plan on going back soon. It’s a unique sport and when time permits, I want to learn more and do it as a hobby. It is just not for young folks. Adults can learn as well. Tougher than it looks and the uniform is super hot.
