We recently had a carport/patio cover added to our home on our driveway. Their estimates of work, and project management skills are top notch. The design work they do is excellent. They’re super flexible and work with you to get things just the way you like for as close to your budget as is possible. Communication is top notch. From coming out to give the estimate, to working & re-working the project parameters, to scheduling and timing they were very responsive, intuitive to my needs, and so eager to help in any way they could. I'm impressed with D&R Contractor's owners, but the crew they used on my project did a great job; we LOVE our new carport and our new contractor friends!
Great company. They do what they say they will do. We had a very small job and had to wait a little bit, but they never lost track of our job. Nice, polite office staff and workers! We highly recommend them.
After our kitchen fire we had to have the whole kitchen gutted and redone. It took several weeks for our kitchen to come to a finishing point. A mom with 6 kids without a functional kitchen is a recipe for disaster. We were told things would happen that didn't. It wasn't timely in any way. I know COVID and finding good work has a lot to do with it, but the job was poorly managed. I wish they would have been upfront about their ability to manage this, so I had the opportunity to find someone else. Cabinets were put in before painting, ceiling was put up before electrical was installed, carpet and flooring put down before painting, and the list seriously goes on. The plumber had been out here 4 times and the electricians were out here 4 or 5 times. Workers were pulled off my job more than once to go to other jobs. There were days they were only here for 3 hours. I had to remind people of things needing to be done, such as the plumbing and moving a 220 before flooring was installed. One of their subs installed the ceiling right over the electrical without cutting a spot for the wires. My husband had to take the ceiling lights down in order for them to finish (while he was SICK).... and he ended up putting them up because the original electricians that were here acted like they didn't know what they were doing. The ceiling subs were here from 4pm until 9pm for three nights... I was told that's not what they had planned, but the only way they could get it done." Well, I want it done.... yesterday. The person "managing" my project came here ONE time. The person originally supposed to manage this, didn't How do you manage something you don't see? Planning and time management was a total fail. HOWEVER, it wasn't ALL bad and I have to give credit where it is due. Project managers Timmy Melson and Drake have been amazing! I can't say enough good things about them and had it not been for them, we would have found someone else to continue the job. They shown up throughout the project and towards the end Drake even did some of the work himself to get the job done. From the point he was on our project he made sure it was managed the way it should of been the whole time and I feel bad he had to deal with me in the state I was in.. I was extremely unhappy. It's a good thing we are ending on a better note. I also couldn't say enough good things about Jose. He is thorough and makes sure the job is done the right way. You can tell he takes pride in his work and I appreciate the attention to detail he's given my project. He is a hard worker and D&R should be very thankful to have him employed, along with Timmy and Drake. I previously asked them to install carpet in 2 rooms and in exchange I would paint the kitchen and do the backsplash. In order to make up for their areas of failure, they did offer to paint my kitchen and settle on the amount the bid was for. Although, it has been a frustrating experience, I am thankful I haven't had to do it myself and their work is quality. At the end of the day... that's what matters. So, I appreciate some of the employees of D&R. I would also like to give their sub contractors that I was pleased with the attention they deserve. 1. 21st Century Flooring out of Tullahoma was extremely pleasant, great work, got the job finished quickly. 2. David Deason with Deason Plumbing and Electric, he and his son knew exactly what they were doing, where the other electrician that was on my job took forever to to do. They came here one day and got everything knocked out in a few hours. Super pleased! David has a great/fun personality which helps you laugh when you're overly stressed! 3. Tyler Weaver (plumber), unsure of company name. He was very very polite. Everything was "ma'am" and was so respectful! He was able to come with short notice which is something I was appreciative about. He explained everything he did and why he did it that way.
