I was heading back home to Ohio and didn't want to drive any longer. I wish I would have!!! I chose Motel 6 b/c they are pet friendly with no pet fees. The lady who checked me in was super distracted with a man in the lobby and her cell phone. I was put in a non smoking room on the 3rd floor, but keep in mind this is not a smoke free property. The whole place smells like a cigarette butt. The stairwells smelled like pot and the hallway carpet looked like someone changed their car oil on it. The room itself actually wasn't dirty, but nothing seemed to work. I sunk about a foot into the bed and the other bed had plywood underneath it. I was so uncomfortable that I don't think I slept much. Maybe that's b/c I wasn't able to take a hot shower after a day of driving. The shower..which is only a shower (strange) was not giving me any hot water. I called the lady at the desk and she came up saying you have play with the handle. She said it wasn't attached correctly. I asked her if it was just my room and she said no..all the rooms were like that. No shower for me. A disturbing phone call from a stranger in the middle of the night was a nice touch too. I was so angry I paid $63 to stay in this crap hole. I decided to talk to the fron desk about some sort of credit. The girl said since I stayed the night, I could not have any type of refund. She said that she saw no note of my complaint. This is not how you run a hotel. $63 bucks for nothing and I'm supposed to like it. Only redeeming quality is the fridge and microwave in the room. There is no place to walk your dog here either. And wifi is non-existent!

I only needed a place to stay a few hours before an early morning flight. I picked this place based on cost and location. Upon arrival I was checked in quickly, as other people loitered at the desk. Only one worker on duty (that I could tell) My room was on the top floor, last room near the stairs. I rode the elevator up to my floor and started the long walk down the corridor. The carpet in the hallway was stained and nasty. When I arrived to my room and opened the door, the (cheap) laminate flooring surprised me. The bed frame was plywood. The sheets could have used a good bleaching. Temperature outside was nearing 100 degrees, the room wasn't far behind. The a/c unit did work but was loud.I listened to little yapping dogs down the hall all night. A large gap under the door allowed hallway noise into the room.I left and re-entered the motel several times after arrival (over a 3 hour time frame) and every time the same people were loitering outside the door and inside by the desk. This made me very uncomfortable as a solo guest.

While we weren't expecting too much, with all other hotels sold out for the night, and the Motel 6 only had two rooms available (both smoking/we are non-smokers), we went in with a $44.00 coupon from the local paper grateful for a bed. The pros: the room was spacious, had a working microwave and mini refridgerator. The TV worked and came with HBO.The staff that checked us in were very nice and friendly. Helped us get our cart in and out of the building. Cons: THIN walls! I could hear everything on both sides of us. Very lumpy mattresses. While it did offer free WIFI, we could not keep the connection. As a smoking room, I guess you'd expect burn marks all over the bathroom counters (I wish I had a solution for that, I'd have a hard time offering smoking rooms if it were my hotel.) Our 10:30 wake up request came at 11:30 (thankfully we requested a late check out); but wait, there was a knock on our door at 11:01 'are you checking out today?' All that said, for $44.00 we pretty much got what we paid for.
