I went to fast pace so I could get tested for Covid. The doctor was very nice and very helpful. The front desk person was not so helpful. She charged me a co-pay which was incorrect according to my insurance company, but wanted to with me that it was correct. I spent way more time trying to get that straight then I should have when I was already sick and didn’t feel good. I even called the insurance company to verify if she had charged me correctly and they said no but they could not do anything till they received the billing from fast pace, then they would process it and let them know that I was due a refund. Then I only got my bill receipt from them but no one gave me a copy of my report saying I was positive for Covid. So I had to go back and ask them for it and on the paperwork it said negative so then I had to call them and ask them was it positive or was it negative? that makes a big difference I think. So they looked up my paperwork and the doctor said yes it was positive. They had just typed it in wrong and they would change it so I went back by and picked up my corrected paperwork and they are supposed to be billing the insurance. I really do not think the girl at the front desk did not get her name really knew exactly what she was doing because she had to call another nurse or office person up to the front desk to ask them. The experience overall with the doctor was very good but the person up front really did not understand I don’t think about Insurance. All I would’ve taken was a simple phone call to Blue Cross Blue Shield sapphire and ask them what would be the correct payment and then it would’ve been settled. So now I have to watch my billing when they do it and see what Blue Cross does, and if they will refund me. that was just way too much time involved to get that straight especially when you’re sick and don’t feel good. Also, the doctor said she would call me in a prescription for an antibiotic just to prevent sinus infection and I kept waiting for my pharmacy to call me to tell me it was ready. They never did call me so I checked with them and they said they did not have a prescription for me. So I called back to fast pace and talk to the doctor. She told me that my conversation with the receptionist was I didn’t want the prescription so the doctor canceled it. I told her that I never discussed a prescription with the receptionist at all. My conversation with her was strictly about the copayment. The prescription was never brought up. So the doctor said she would be glad to call CVS and re-order my antibiotic and she did that very promptly within 15 minutes. CVS contacted me and said my prescription was ready. I would recommend fast pace to anybody, but just be very careful when you’re dealing with the upfront receptionist I’m not sure how many they have if it would be the same one or not but make sure you know exactly what your insurance company tells you so that when you pay you will know exactly what you need to pay. The ordeal I went through just trying to get that straightened out was totally unnecessary. But I would highly recommend the doctor. Her name was Andrea Gilliam. this was my first time ever going there or ever using any kind of walk-in clinic. And it should not have been so difficult.
