About Monthaven Arts & Cultural Center
Monthaven Arts and Cultural Center is a gem and an inspiring addition to the Greater Nashville region. Housed in a beautiful historic mansion, it is a magnificent art gallery and museum with a cozy, homey atmosphere that lends itself to quiet contemplation. The center presents rotating exhibits of regional, national, and international importance, featuring everything from Picasso and Dali to great local and regional artists. It offers studio programs on a variety of artistic disciplines and hosts events like a summer concert series. The staff are warm, welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable, creating a great atmosphere. It is a fantastic and amazing place, underappreciated for what it brings and does, and is set to become a destination in the region.
Monthaven is a gem not just to Hendersonville but to the greater Nashville area. With rotating exhibits including everything from Picasso to Dali to great local and regional artists—as well as offering studio programs on a variety of artistic disciplines—it’s hard to think of another place quite like it. Their hardworking team of curators and programmers do A LOT so it is worth being on their mailing list to stay in touch.
I’ve lived in the Nashville area for 20+ years and I cannot believe it’s taken me that long to visit the Monthaven Arts Center! I’ve missed out on so many art exhibits!
Don’t you miss out, this place is fantastic. Enjoyed the Salvador Dali’s Stairway To Heaven exhibit as well as some truly magical work from local artist, Lisa Jennings.
I love the small homey nature of the building. It’s cozy and lends itself to quiet contemplation…nothing is rushed here. The staff were knowledgeable, friendly and made us feel right at home.
Don’t wait, plan your visit and enjoy this amazing arts center!
