I’m disappointed to have to write the following review. DeWayne of DNA Heating & Cooling was very communicative, kind, seemed to be extremely knowledgeable, and came back to the house several times the last few years to make minor adjustments after installing my unit and replacing my ductwork in February of 2020. Unfortunately though, this did not translate into a positive experience as I recently had 3 unit leaks within 4 weeks costing me much time, money, energy as well as resulting in a claim on my homeowners insurance. -For months and months after the installation of my hvac unit, DeWayne promised to pull a permit so that codes could proceed to come out and inspect his work..that never happened. Again and again, I reached out to try to confirm that the permit had been pulled and every time was told that it would be happening in the near future. 2.5 years later he still has not produced that permit. -A small drain hose was already attached to the end of the pvc drain line outside when DeWayne installed the unit. Unfortunately, he never removed that drain house until after gunk had clogged the inside of it (May of 2022) causing water to back up into the unit in my attic and much water damage to my master bedroom. He had opportunity to prevent this from happening upon installation of the unit by simply pulling the small drain hose off but this was not done nor was I made aware that it could be an issue. It was only after the damage had happened that he shared a drain hose could cause problems. A 5 second correction here upon initial installation of the unit could have prevented all this. -Upon 3 unit leaks happening in May/June of 2022, several other H&C companies confirmed the following. The unit was not level, safety switches were not functioning, old and crumbling armaflex/insulation still existed causing some water to drip in the attic and that there was damage to the emergency drain pan causing any water that made it’s way into the pan to leak onto my attic flooring/master bedroom drywall. Due to the drain pan being damaged, the water didn’t rise to the level of the float switch which, if functioning, would have turned the unit off preventing more water from further filling the pan/overflowing. I’ve been told that it is standard practice to bend a pan in order to be able to fit and transport it through an attic hatch. It seems that this was likely done by DeWayne but never bent back into shape once installed below my unit. As others have looked at the unit, they’ve confirmed that it’s clear there have been issues that could have easily been avoided with greater attention to detail during install. Again, I wish that this had not been my experience as DeWayne has represented himself in a kind and professional manner and as someone that genuinely cares. After quite a bit of research and speaking with/using other H&C professionals, I believe that mistakes were made resulting in this water damage and a very unhappy customer.

I would highly recommend DNA Heating & Cooling to anyone in need of HVAC service/repair. Dewayne came out on a Sunday and was able to immediately identify the issues with my heat not working. He was honest, friendly, showed up when he said he would be there, fair price, and ultimately was able to get my heat working again. What more can you ask for? 10 out of 10!
